Kira is now 7.3kg and is still the cutest lil puppy ever!! We got her desexed and microchipped last week so that has made me feel a little better although the poor thing now has to wear an Elizabeth collar, which she is not impressed with. She needs to have it on for 10 – 14 days while her sutures heal. So we just scratch her ears for her whenever it looks like she is reaching for them. I just hope that she doesn’t get used to this!
Today I received an academic transcript from USQ telling me that I had (finally) graduated a course. YAY!!! I have been doing tertiary studies on and off for the past 10 years (with much pain). I started with a biomedical science degree, then changed to an IT degree. I am now going to graduate with an Advanced Diploma of Business. This was because the IT degree had been run through the Business faculty, but I am not complaining. I, too, will finally have a certificate to hang up somewhere to prove the hours of pain and heartache I have spent cramming for exams and writing up assignments, usually last minute! I must say though, I do like having intelligent textbooks on our shelves. I don’t think I will go to Toowoomba for the ceremony though.
Wedding plans are starting to roll now too. I signed up for some wedding related newsletters and they are telling me I have 10 months to go (we want to get married in May 2008). Apparently I should already have decided on a venue, photographer, caterer, honeymoon, DJ etc. There are so many lists and sites out there to tell me what I should be doing, but the one I like the most so far is the Offbeat Bride… Be prepared is all I’m saying
Nath and I really want to go to Japan so we are thinking of going there for our honeymoon. We’ve been going over brochures (correction… I’ve been going through brochures and pointing at things to see if Nath is interested as well… we did pretty well except for Disneyland… we’ve already been to one asian Disneyland) and I think we have decided on going to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto (mainly), with a few side trips to visit friends and tourist attractions on the way. I like the idea of the Intrepid tours to get us started getting familiar with the country, and then maybe do some independent travel too. I have started learning how to recognise some simple characters, and I have been listening to language ‘tapes’ too, with my own personal tutor
On another note, after some friends making some pretty inspirational changes, I have decided to try and be more aware of what I am eating so that I can combine this with regular exercise, and be healthy and fit in time for the wedding.
