I am, once again, an X-Phile 0
I finally got to see the X-Files movie at the cinema on Saturday, after making all sorts of grandiose plans to see it on opening night, and then being too tired (and slack) to enforce the plan. Was it worth it? Oh yeah baby. Not exactly what I had imagined it to be like, but it was a fun, joyful ride – and boy is Scully looking hot!! Now that I have seen the movie, I am still going to continue on my quest to re-watch all the X-files eps (all 10 seasons of them), especially considering I am pretty sure that I have missed some along the way. I promise not to make alfoil hats though! Lol
I’m on a cooking bug again, and have started keeping a journal of all my experimental cooking. A lot of it starts out as an ingredient, then a quick glance through Recipezaar, and a few changes to accommodate my pantry ingredients. I must say, most of them have turned out successful so far. Tonight I tried to make my own char sui bau (steamed pork buns, by definition), although I have gone for a few variations instead. (Note, for those that used to watch the series Firefly, it’s THOSE buns/bau). I tried some sweet red bean paste ones and some savoury mince ones. Since I don’t have an steamy machine thingy, I used the wok with the tray stand inside. I now have bau!! Ok, so it’s not quite packed full of ingredients (I should have used a rolling pin or equivalent), and it looks like it has cellulite (no idea with that one), but it tastes pretty darn tasty. I might also start making a quiche/frittata a week since they are always handy to have in the fridge, and it helps me to use up old veggies
In dog news, Kira has picked up a rather unsettling habit lately. Now, I’m pretty sure she is female, but she has always liked to get her teddy, and kinda start humping him. Yesterday she started doing it to Gizmo, to much hilarity. I know I should try and stop it, but when it happened this afternoon, I was too busy trying to breathe in, between much laughter…. because today – she was doing it to his head
